First Poem on Blogger

Okay so my palms are sweating as I type this (and no it's not just due to the glorious heat England is currently experiencing) it's because when I post this poem it will only be the second time I've placed it anywhere public. The first time was on my fictional writing website where one lovely follower reads my work constantly and comments always. However, as she is the only one this feels like it is about to become a lot more public with just one click! So the questions are buzzing around as to whether or not I truly want to post this. But as my previous blog stated, (within a photo from North Berwick, Scotland), Live for the Moment. So here I go....

My Third Brother.
I was five when you first meet me,
Neither of us knew how later it would be,
How with every problem I’d be there,
And vice versa to make it fair,
We both have siblings by the score,
Yet somehow feeling the need for more,
We welcomed one another through the door,
And opened up to our core,
Fights we’ve had that is true,
But every time we’ve made it through,
And with each day our strength does grow,
Even when we do not know,
And strangely when we’re apart,
I know you are well within my heart,
And I only wish that I could see,
You as happy as can be,
For life has been a learning curve,
And nothing less do you deserve,
Than a free and peaceful life,
Forevermore devoid of strife.

I feel some slight explanation may need to come with this poem. It's about a friend, a friend who can be as close as a brother to me and yet as distant as Pluto. This friend can be difficult and cold but also interesting and full of unconventional viewpoints that can often place a whole situation in perspective. Again please let me know what you think, thank you Amyx
